Modalities & Methods I Use in Therapy
This page outlines the evidence-based approaches that guide my work. From understanding the nervous system to processing trauma safely, each modality plays a specific role in supporting emotional regulation, insight, and long-term healing.
Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR)
DBR is a gentle, neuroscience-informed trauma therapy that works with the brainstem-level shock and attachment wounds that shape emotional and physiological reactions. It allows healing to happen at the level where trauma is stored, without needing to retell or relive the experience.
EMDR & Parts-Informed Therapy
EMDR is an evidence-based trauma therapy that helps the brain reprocess distressing experiences that remain stuck in the nervous system. Through guided bilateral stimulation, EMDR supports the integration of traumatic memories so they lose their emotional intensity and no longer drive present-day reactions.
Grief & IADC Therapy
Induced After Death Communication (IADC) is a specialized grief therapy that supports emotional processing and relief from traumatic grief. It can help clients reconnect with calm, meaning, and inner steadiness after loss.
Emotion-Focused Therapy
These methods help clients explore their emotional experiences with compassion, identify conflicting internal parts, and understand the underlying needs driving their reactions. They support emotional clarity, self-awareness, and compassionate inner connection.
Trauma-Informed, Nervous-System-Based Therapy
This approach focuses on recognizing dysregulation, understanding stress responses, and helping the nervous system return to safety and balance. It helps clients understand why certain reactions feel automatic and how to create steadier, more regulated patterns.
Attachment-Focused Therapy
This approach explores how early relational experiences shape emotional patterns, triggers, and relationship dynamics. By understanding your attachment needs and histories, therapy supports secure, grounded connection with yourself and others.
Healing happens when you feel safe
If you’re ready to explore therapy, I’d be honoured to support you. Let’s create a space for curiosity, compassion, and lasting change.
